About Me
Hello & Welcome!
Hi, my name is Benjamin Moots and I’m glad you found my vegan food blog A Bee Made It. I hope that you’re ready for some great plant-based recipes, because that’s all I Bee doing lately. I was originally focusing on improving common vegan recipes to make them more craveable. However, a recent heart attack has shifted my focus to losing weight with a plant-based GLP-1 diet. Whatever you’re looking for, I’ll be writing a little bit of everything plant-based or vegan that’s appropriate for any dietary needs.

I’ve struggled with weight and health issues for as long as I can remember. Maintaining a plant-based diet has always been beneficial, but it’s not easy to do when all your friends and family aren’t interested. That’s how I got into making better vegan recipes in an attempt to get more people on board eating better.
When I had my heart attack in December of 2024, I was eating a highly processed plant-based diet full of sugars, preservatives, and hydrogenated seed oils. I thought just ditching the meat and dairy would be beneficial enough, but I wasn’t getting any healthier. I wound up at 454 pounds. Despite complaints of not feeling well, all the tests showed I was fine.

After the heart attack, my cardiologist and doctors suggested trying to get on Wegovy to not only lose weight, but for long term protective cardiac benefits. Recent studies showed that Wegovy cut the risk of heart attack, stroke or death by 57% versus Eli Lilly’s rival medicines Mounjaro and Zepbound. I was able to get approval and start taking Wegovy in May 2025. Consequently, I lost 50 pounds in the first 5 months.
I believe that plant-based diets are our future for so many reasons, and it’s also a perfect fit for anyone needing GLP-1 diet support. I’ve got a ways to go yet with my diet and health on my GLP-1 journey. So I’m hoping to make this blog a place where I can share what recipes and tips have helped me in the hope that they’ll be of benefit to you or someone you love.
Here’s some of my most popular recipes to try next!
